Maternal G.Grandfather. Harry Davies Sr. [A0311] married Mary Jane Bazley [A0321] on 4th July 1880 in Prescot, Merseyside.
Mary Jane Bazley [A0321] was born in Runcorn, Cheshire on 7th January 1863 to Joseph Wright Bazley, a shoemaker of the same town. In 1880 Mary Jane married Harry Davies Jr. [A0311] our Grandfather.

Joseph’s Bazley’s [A0447] story has proved to be complicated. The only birth record I could originally find was in York around 1839, yet I believe his father was born in Frodsham, Cheshire about 1805. Further research uncovered a baptism on May 12th 1839 in the parish of Sandall Magna, which is in Wakefield, Yorkshire. The parents names are Richard & Ellen which agree with other records. The surname is spelt ‘Bisley’, though I have come across many variants of this spelling whilst exploring this particular families history.
The oldest recorded member of this family is a Richard Bazley[A0452] born in 1805 in Frodsham, Cheshire.
Mary’s father, Joseph Wright Bazley is recorded as being born in Cheshire in the 1851 census while the 1861 census shows Joseph with his wife and family living in Runcorn, but the place of birth is transcribed as “York or Yorkshire. All subsequent census reports for Joseph state Yorkshire and latterly Wakefield as the place of birth.
All the other family members were born in Runcorn. Most other facts seem to be OK, such as occupations down the line and Joseph Wright Bazley’s will, confirms his marriage to Annie Dennett [A0451] It was during recent ‘digging’ that I discovered in the Newspaper Archives, a funeral report for Joseph that said he had married three times, which was interesting as we only had two marriages on file.
